Abstract
To quantify and estimate the bio-availability and toxicity of sediment associated metals to the benthic community in intertidal mudflats in the Scheldt estuary. Metal concentrations in porewaters, solid sediment and benthic organisms are reported as a function of physical, chemical and biological processes.
