Abstract
The key focus of MIRA-PE 2007 is the way environmental policy evaluation has evolved over the past few years: to what extent can the Flemish Government’s policy evaluation practice be considered to be institutionalised? By ‘institutionalisation’ we mean the extent to which cultural components (values, norms, habits …) and structural ones (instruments, procedures, institutions …) are available which contribute to policy evaluation research and other policy evaluation activities being planned, carried out and having an impact on policy practice. It is supposed that a high degree of institutionalisation guarantees that more and better policy evaluation (in whatever form) will take place and that this will increase the quality and effectiveness of the policy.
