We invite you to describe and share your dataset in our MarineInfo metadata catalogue by filling in:
Through this form, you can easily provide information about your dataset and choose whether to upload the full dataset or simply create a metadata record to inform others of its existence. After a manual review, the submitted metadata may be added to IMIS. Including your dataset in the MarineInfo metadata catalogue will help you manage and share your scientific research within the wider scientific community.
Upon submitting data, please do consider the data submit guidelines. VLIZ provides this service to support data sharing but is not responsible for processing the data itself. Please ensure that you comply with GDPR requirements when using this application. For more information or to request an account, contact imis-support@vliz.be.
Your dataset can also be integrated into larger existing online data systems as derived data or data products. A few of the possibilities are:
- contribute your biological and physicochemical data on the Scheldt estuary to ScheldeMonitor
- contribute your distribution data on marine species to EurOBIS and the Emodnet biology portal
- contribute your taxonomic information to WoRMS
For more information or in case of questions as to the submission of data, please contact data@vliz.be.
You can also make your dataset publicly available by archiving it in the Marine Data Archive. The Marine Data Archive (MDA) is VLIZ’s online repository for securely archiving and managing research data. It allows marine scientists, research groups, and institutes to store data in a sustainable environment, share files with collaborators, or make datasets publicly available (for example via an IMIS dataset record or for peer review purposes). Multiple copies of all uploaded data are retained to safeguard against data loss.
An MDA account is required to upload and manage data. This enables VLIZ to ensure appropriate access control, security, and traceability. All actions within the MDA are logged for legal and reporting purposes.
For more information, or to request an account, contact mda@vliz.be, You can find out more about the Data Policy of MDA here.
