| Abstract |
The valid use of ratios is discussed using common sense, simple biometry and a more rigorous approach. In each case it is shown that the use of a ratio implies that its constituents have the same relative variabilit as measured by the coefficient of variation. It is further suggested that the relation between form and size can be studied by a simple graphical method and by using a new utility measure |
