Abstract
A new deep-water actiniarian species, Segonzactis hartogi sp.n. is described from the Mediterrancan (Aegean Sea). This is the first record of the family Condylanthidae from the Mediterranean Sea. Morphometric and ecological differences between the new species and S. platypus Riemann-Zürneck, 1979, the only known species of the genus, are discussed. Another six species of the Actiniarian fauna of the deep Aegean are also presented. Information is given on their geographical distribution and habitat.
