Abstract
Numerous specimens of a tineid species were reared from larvae found in the stems of Capparis spinosa in Morocco. It has been determined as Xerantica tephroclysta Meyrick, 1930, the first record of this species from the Palaearctic region. Larva, pupa and adult are described together with the male and female genitalia, and the systematic position of the genus is discussed.
