Abstract
Beside his influence on zoological sciences, Charles Darwin made wide-ranging contributions to the science in general and shaped the way we think about our world in modern times. According to, foremost, detailed searching of literature data and voluminous scanning of web pages, we made a list of recent animal taxa named after famous naturalist. This list comprises of 301 animal taxa, which belong to at least 9 phylla (Porifera, Cnidaria, Platyhelminthes, Ectoprocta, Mollusca, Annelida, Arthropoda, Echinodermata and Chordata). The great number of eponyms belongs to the insects; most of them are Coleoptera and Hymenoptera. Some genera and higher animal taxa were also named after Darwin, like in insects and ostracods.
