Abstract
This report is an investigation about the available software for seakeeping calculations in order to provide to FHR an appropriate tool to set-up numerical models for seakeeping and manoeuvring in shallow water. A general review of some theorical aspects related to seakeeping approximations in shallow water is presented. A brief description of the commercial software and its main characteristics is also included. A test of the Hydrostar is performed to evaluate its performance and interface. Finally, the Hydrostar software was selected like a convenient tool in order to continue the implementation of seakeeping characteristics in the WL mathematical models. In consequence, an annual commercial license was acquired and it is valid till 1st November 2019.
