Abstract
    The types of Tonna variegata (Lamarck, 1822) and Tonna chinensis (Dillwyn, 1817) are discussed, and compared to other SouthAfrican, Indo-Pacific, Australian and New Zealand species of Tonna. The new species Tonna alanbeui, Tonna boucheti, Tonna morrisoni andTonna poppei are described and compared.
