Abstract
No morphological difference could be found between a fissiparous heteronemertine from New Zealand and other fissiparous species with similarexternal appearances. All constitute a single species. Significant anatomical characters are shared with Lineus lacteus (Rathke, 1843) and L. pseudolacteus Gontcharoff, 1951. The genus Myoisophagos is erected to contain the three species with M. sanguineus (Rathke, 1799) designated as type species. Significant morphological characters separate the new genus from the genus Lineus.
