Abstract
Recent oceanographic surveys have led to observations of non-indigenous spionid polychaete Prionospio pulchra Imajima, 1990 along the French Atlantic coasts. Native from Japanese coasts, this species had previously only been reported from Spanish and Lusitanian coastal waters. These new observations confirm the presence of this species along the French Atlantic coast and constitute the most northerly record in Europe. We precise here the ecology of the species and discuss the vectors of its spread along the French coasts. Additionally, we discuss possible confusion with native and non-native species of Prionospio.
