Abstract
This document summarizes the basic theory and implementation of a python package for the study of  motions of rigid plates, using sensor measurements. A short explanation of the development of the python  package, necessary inputs, and outputs is given. Additionally, the theory behind the study of motions in rigid  plates is also described. The present text should be considered supporting material to the Jupyter notebook  provided with the installation of shipping6DOF, which features complete tutorials and validations.
