Abstract
Study of an endozoic alga that has been found, as tetrasporophyte, in the hydroids: Obelia geniculata -in which it was formerly identified as Acrochaetium infestans -and Amphisbetia operculata -in which it recalls Audouinella membranacea and Acrochaetium (?) endozoicum. Its life cycle, unknown to date, obtained in culture, involves the hetrotrichous tetrasporophyte found in nature and a monoecious or dioecious gametophyte with a creeping system reduced to one cell. This alga belongs to a new species, Audouinella boryana, different from the three endozoic species evocated above.
