Description
Wave tank tests conducted at Flanders Hydraulics Research in 2018 as part of the CREST project. Tests are overtopping simulations on a configuration of a sea dike and a very shallow foreshore at a scale of 1/50. Wave boundary conditions with directional spreading and oblique incidence were simulated. As a reference, longshore waves with perpendicular incidence were also simulated. On the one hand volumes overtopping the crest were measured, on the other hand the impact on a vertical wall at a distance from the crest was measured. Simulations without a dike were also performed to simulate wave propagation over the very shallow foreshore without reflection against a sea dike.
