Abstract
A description of a simple night-day light simulator is presented. The apparatus provides an automatic and stepless adjustment of the light intensity, and could, with some adaptation, be used in operating both lightbulbs and fluorescent bubes. The equipment permits light simulation of any season, latitude or water depth. Some experiments have indicated that a stepless light simulation may have a positive effect on both yolksoc consumption and feeding rates of fish larvae. Thus the described equipment might be useful in aquaculture.
