Abstract
    A new genus, Pliothyrina, with type species P. sowerbyana (NYST, P.-H.,1843) is described from the late Miocene and early Pliocene in the vicinityof Antwerp in Belgium. A few reworked specimens of unspecified age werecollected in Domburg in the Netherlands.
