Abstract
Exploration of the fauna of snails in Bosnia and Herzegovina does not offer a lot of data, but in general, the systematic data with continuous monitoring did not exist, especially the marine fauna. The very first significant researches of marine snails were conducted in 2015. through two projects, „Biodiversity of the Neum Bay“ by Sharklab ADRIA and IPA Adriatic project „DeFishGear“ by Hydrotechnical Institute of Sarajevo with technical and scientific support by Sharklab ADRIA. The investigated species Hexaplex trunculus (Linneaus, 1758) is usual in Neum Bay and it has been recorded in all previous works, but more detailed morphoanatomical and ecological analyzes have not been recorded. In this paper, authors give insight into the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the banded dye-murex on total 50 samples collected during the feildstudies of the project „Biodiversity of Neum Bay“ indicating the wide span of varieties.
