Abstract
    A new species in the genus Pionoconus Mörch, 1852: Pionoconus aliwalensis n. sp. from Southern KwaZulu-Natal Sub-Province, South Africa is described and compared to P. gubernator (Hwass in Bruguière, 1792) from the Indo-Pacific.
