Abstract
    In this paper the unexpected presence of the genus Anacithara in Cyprus' Pliocene is reported and Anacithara akisi sp. nov. is described as new to science. Three more thermophilic species are recorded for the first time in Cyprus' Pliocene and probably mentioned for thefirst time from the eastern part of the Mediterranean.
