Fisheries crime and ocean resilience
|
| Abstract |
The ocean is one of the most important features of the Earth. It produces more than half the oxygen we breathe, regulates the climate, supports economies through trade and tourism, and provides sources of food, medicine, and recreation to not only littoral, but also landlocked states (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 2021). The balance of the ocean ecosystem must be maintained to ensure it thrives for generations to come. As such, the health of our world ocean must be prioritized at the international, national, and local levels, requiring collective buy-in. |
