| Abstract |
The Ogasawara Islands are oceanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, known for evolutionary radiations, especially in land snails and plants. The endemic genus Hirasea has been assigned to several different taxa. Some malacologists classified this genus within Limacoidei, while others placed it within either Punctoidea or Discoidea. In this study, the phylogenetic position of Hirasea was investigated using a nuclear 28S rRNA marker. Our results demonstrate that species of Hirasea belong to Limacoidei, rather than Punctoidea or Discoidea. |
