Abstract
Cretaceous and Cenozoic pedunculate cirripedes of the Orders Calanticomorpha and Scalpellomorpha are described and illustrated. These include a total of 29 genera, of which four are new (Bognorscalpellum, Solidoscalpellum, Lacrymascalpellum, Laeviscalpellum) and 76 species, of which 14 are new. Of the fauna, eight come from the Lower Cretaceous (Weald, Lower Greensand and Selborn groups), 46 from the Upper Cretaceous (Chalk Group), 20 from the Paleogene (Thames, Bracklesham, Barton and Solent groups) and two from the Neogene (Crag Group). The study demonstrates the extraordinary diversity of Upper Cretaceous pedunculate cirripedes, of which many went extinct at the K-Pg boundary, although some survived to the present day in the deep sea.
