Abstract
Osmotic and ionic regulation of the coelomic fluid is studied in Nereis pelagica and Perinereis cultrifera. N. pelagica and P. cultrifera behave as poikilosmotic forms when placed in waters of different salinities. Except for K+ ion, ionic regulation of the coelomic fluid is less effective among these spp than with Nereis diversicolor. N. pelagica is more permeable to Mg++) ion than P. cultrifera and N. diversicolor.
