Abstract
From 2 sampling stations in Bermuda (Tuckers Town Beach: eulittoral; North Reef: sublittoral) 11 interstitial ciliate spp are recorded and their morphological features given; 7 spp are known so far from the US east coast. In this connection, the means of dispersal eg for the colonization of islands, are discussed and the difficulties of verification of these means of dispersal are shown.
