Abstract | The UN Convention on the Law of the Sea has been signed by a majority of states, and therefore, without any prejudice to the eventual outcome of ratifications, it is prudent for the Working Committee for International Oceanographic Data Exchange to consider the possible effects of the Convention upon its responsibilities and procedures. This note consists of a commentary upon the general principles within the Convention, and is not the official view of the Natural Environment research Council, the Institute of Oceanographic Sciences, or Her Majesty's Government of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. No legalisatic interpretation of the articles of the Convention is implied or intended. |
