Abstract
    Epifytes on plastic and Himanthali holdfasts, beached in November 2008 between Zeebrugge and Blankenberge are recorded. This paper gives the first record of beached Membranipora tuberculata for the southern bight of the North Sea. does not grow on the Belgian coast. The holdfasts and their epifytes probably originate from the English Channel.
