Abstract
The Belgo-German species, Rhynchonella Moresnetensis DE KONINCK,L.-G., 1887, is described in detail. Species, subspecies and varieties fromBergisches Land, Spain, southern Ural Mountains, Kazakhstan, Transcaucasia(Armenia, Nakhitchevan, Russian Azerbaidjan), North Iran, and centraland western Afghanistan are assigned to the genus Araratella n. gen. Arestricted range — late Famennian according to international usage —, anda wide geographic distribution give a great importance to the genus. Inaddition the significance of two Belgian forms, R. ? Gosseleti Oehlert,D.-P., 1893, and R. Mourloni, nomen nudum, is also examined.
