| Abstract | Recent estimates indicate that 10% of total plastic waste ends up in the oceans and have reached even remote areas such as polar region. Depending on the chemical composition of plastic polymers, these wastes can accumulate on the seabed (about 70%) or remain suspended in the water column. |
