Abstract
This bibliography was compiled in order to stimulate and encourage the ongoing activities on aquaculture research in Latin America; to provide readers with an overview of available literature on aquaculture in this sub-continent; and to facilitate the access of scientists to the literature. It offers citations to books, articles, internal and official reports, conferences, and communications. All articles are numbered to facilitate retrieval. For scientists not familiar with the Spanish or Portuguese language, all titles are additionally translated into English. As far as available, each bibliographic citation is followed by a short address regarding publication availability. We recommend to write to the senior author for free reprints or copies. Three indices are included: a comprehensive English subject index, a geographic index, and a taxonomic index to assist the user of the bibliography. An English/Spanish and Spanish/English subject dictionary is added to help users not familiar with the English language.
