In this regard, its implementation has been studied for the most important belgian ports. A twofold goal was set forward: to obtain a quantitative view on the input, disposal and treatment of harmful substances and to evaluate procedures and practices actually applied on board and in the Belgian ports for the management and removal of these substances.
