ESD: ICES EcoSystemData Citation Also accessible through: Availability: Restricted The data are withheld from general circulation and disclosure but access may be obtained on a case-by-case basis through negotiation Notes: Release with permission of the appropriate parties Description The ICES EcoSystemData system joins several databases on physical, biological and chemical information into one system.
The data available in EurOBIS is an extract from the EcoSystemData System of ICES more The EcoSystemData system joins the physical, biological and chemical conditions of the sea by storing and processing oceanographic, contaminants and biological effects of contaminants in seawater, sediment and biota, and biological community abundance data into one system. For many years these data were held and managed in separate systems and one of the main goals of EcoSystemData is to function as an integrated repository where different types of data can coexist and interact for the multiple purposes, e.g. map spatial planning, ecosystem management decision support tools, climate change studies and fisheries management.
