The species diversity is described from 43 transects, 180 stations at 0,1 - 25 m depth. The data about location, region, sampling equipment are given for each macroalgae species. These data are available now for scientists, professionals and they can be used in various purposes. more The dataset of the Black sea macroalgae contains full taxonomic and ecological information about 105 species, among them 29 belong to Chlorophyta, 25 - Heterokontophyta and 51 - Rhodophyta. The data is concerning the taxonomic diversity of Cystoseira and Phyllopora Black sea biocenoses, which are key parts of the coastal ecosystem, having high status of conservation in Europe (Natura 2000; Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC, Annex 1). The total number of dataset records is 7153, among them Chlorophyta - 1469, Heterokontophyta - 1784 and Rhodophyta - 3901.
