Phytoplankton samples were taken by plastic 6L bathometer on 0,10,25,50,100 m depths. Samples 1,5-3 L volume were concentrated immediately after sampling by inverse filtering through nucleopore filter 1 um (Sorokin, 1979). In "live" concentrate (40-70 ml volume) small forms of phytoplankton (less than 16 um) were counted in 0.01 ml drop. Larger forms were counted in Nauman camera (0.75ml) under microscope ERGAVAL. In parallel with cells counting, measurements of the cell sizes were performed. As sample processing was done in “live” concentrate, samples from concentration till processing were kept in refrigerator. After microscope processing samples were fixed by neutralized formalin.
