Description Data of marine mammal sightings in 1995 beginning and ending in Woods Hole, MA as part of a large scale survey. more The ship survey was conducted from 06 August 1995 to 05 September 1995, beginning and ending in Woods Hole, MA. The study area covered approximately 12,600 nmi2 , and included the area bounded by Portland, ME to St. John, New Brunswick, to the southern tip of Nova Scotia. This cruise was part of a large scale marine mammal sighting survey which consisted of two legs (each approximately a month long) on each of two ships, and a six week aerial survey which was conducted concurrently with vessel operations. The entire study area was from Chesapeake Bay, VA, USA to the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Canada. The objectives of this survey were to:
