Description
Abiotic data (salinity, Secchi depth, temperature, pH, concentrations of inorganic nutrients, Chlorophyll a, POC, phytoplankton carbon, dry weight, detritus) for water samples taken at Shirazi (and Ramisi estuarine stations) and Mtwapa creek from August to October 1999. The data were digitized by VLIZ from the original report: Mutua, A.K. (2000). Spatial distribution of suspended particulate matter (SPM) in Mtwapa Creek and Funzi Bay - Kenya. MSc Thesis. VUB: Brussel. 69 pp. more

Surface water concentrations of inorganic nutrients and suspended particulate matter (SPM) components were examined and compared between Mtwapa and Shirazi creeks in Kenya. This was aimed at assessing the ecological situation of the two creeks and determine the influence of sewage discharge. The results obtained were further compared with those from Ramisi, an estuarine system.
