Description
Aerial surveys were conducted on predetermined tracklines on monthly intervals across the year. All marine mammal sightings were closed on to collect high resolution digital images used to determine species ID in the Lab and to estimate abundance. These data are regularly added to the ongoing seasonal distribution and abundance analyses conducted by CREEM at each of the sites surveyed for the Navy monitoring program. more

The original survey data are separated into two datasets, from left-side and right-side observers upon provider's request. This dataset is from the right side sighting data. The left side sighting data are available on OBIS-SEAMAP in the AFTT Hatteras Aerial Survey -Left side- 2014 dataset.

datetime_ini, latitude_ini and longitude_ini are added and calculated by OBIS-SEAMAP through the consultation with the provider.
