3D modelling of intertidal beach zone (Mariakerke-Bad, April 2018) [3D-modellering van intertidale strandzone (Mariakerke-Bad, april 2018)] Citation 3D Data Acquisition Research Unit - UGent, Belgium; (2018) 3D-modellering van intertidale strandzone (Mariakerke-Bad, april 2018). https://marineinfo.org/id/dataset/6033 Contact: De Wulf, Alain Availability: For more information on the restrictions, use contact information. Description Data products were established based on (1) hyper-spatial mobile terrestrial laser scanning (MTLS) of the beach topography at low-tide near Mariakerke-Bad on 17 April '18 (2) simultaneous UAV-based SfM-MVS mapping (3) GNSS-based mobile mapping of the inter- and supratidal zone on 26 April. A special service vehicle (SSV) equipped with a closely-coupled laser scanner, GNSS and Inertial Measurement Unit provided a dense point cloud (> 500 pts./m²) of the lower intertidal beach topography with vertical accuracies of ± 2 cm. SfM-MVS processing of UAV acquired imagery combined with precise ground control measurements resulted in a dense point cloud (> 250 pts./m²) and orthoimagery of the inter- and supratidal beach topography with vertical accuracies of ± 2 cm. The SSV was equipped with two GNSS-antennas (receiving FLEPOS RTK corrections) to map along-shore profiles with a (cross- × along-shore) resolution of (10m × 2.5m).
