Description
Data products were established based on hyper-spatial mobile terrestrial laser scanning (MTLS) surveys of the beach topography at low-tide near Mariakerke-Bad on October 2nd and 4th 2017. A special service vehicle (SSV) equipped with a closely-coupled laser scanner, GNSS and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) provided a dense point cloud of the inter- and supratidal beach topography. Point densities of > 500 pts./m² were obtained on both measurements. An interval of just 2 days between successive surveys showed the possibilities of hyper-temporal MTLS for the monitoring of coastal morphological processes that change at rapid timescales.
