3D modelling of intertidal beach zone (Mariakerke-Bad, October 2017) [3D-modellering van intertidale strandzone (Mariakerke-Bad, oktober 2017)] Citation 3D Data Acquisition Research Unit - UGent, Belgium; (2017) 3D-modellering van intertidale strandzone (Mariakerke-Bad, oktober 2017). https://marineinfo.org/id/dataset/6036 Contact: De Wulf, Alain Availability: For more information on the restrictions, use contact information. Description Data products were established based on hyper-spatial mobile terrestrial laser scanning (MTLS) surveys of the beach topography at low-tide near Mariakerke-Bad on October 2nd and 4th 2017. A special service vehicle (SSV) equipped with a closely-coupled laser scanner, GNSS and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) provided a dense point cloud of the inter- and supratidal beach topography. Point densities of > 500 pts./m² were obtained on both measurements. An interval of just 2 days between successive surveys showed the possibilities of hyper-temporal MTLS for the monitoring of coastal morphological processes that change at rapid timescales.
