Depth, CTD, pH, Alkalinity, nutrients, Chl-a, Pheo-a, POC and Sechi depth measurements from the Israel National Monitoring Program in the Gulf of Eilat, from 2004 onwards Citation Berkowicz S.; Inter-University Institute for Marine Sciences in Eilat; (2018) Depth, CTD, pH, Alkalinity, nutrients, Chl-a, Pheo-a, POC and Sechi depth measurements from the Israel National Monitoring Program at the Gulf of Eilat, from 2004 onwards. https://marineinfo.org/id/dataset/6092 Contact: Berkowicz, Simon ; Shaked, Yonathan Availability: For more information on the restrictions, use contact information. Description Data derived from monthly Israel National Monitoring Program cruises at the Gulf of Eilat, in which the surface water and the water column is sampled to a depth of >700m. Temperature and depth are measured electronically and all other data are the result of laboratory analyses on sampled water. Temperature is measured in-situ using a Mercury-thermometer. In addition, daily measurements of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration collected from the Underwater Observatory pier, just in front of the shallow fringing reef of Eilat. SST is measured with a Mercury-thermometer and Chl-a is calculated from spectrophotometer measurements on water samples. Also, Chlorophyll-a concentrations from 10X10cm plates residing in the water for two months to allow for algae settlement. Each site contains triplicate sets (A through C) of two coupled plates (exposed to grazing and caged for protection).
