Description
Observatoire Océanologique de Banyuls carries out the long-term monitoring of SOLA (42°29'300 N – 03°08’700 E), POLA (42°28'300 N – 03°15'500 E) and MOLA (42°27.200’ N – 03°32.600’ E) sampling points since the 90's. Samplings are mostly done on weekly time intervals on SOLA point (SOMLIT program), where a hydrological profile is carried out at with a SeaBird SBE19 SeaCat CTD and water samples using Niskin bottles. Physico-chemical parameters are measured (dissolved oxygen, ammonium, pH, nutrients, Chl-a and pheopigments, CHN and MES). Every 15 days; cytometry, bacterial production, Micro-FISH and bacterial DNA are sampled. Every 2 weeks, at POLA point, physico-chemical samples (Oxygen, pH, salinity, ammonium, suspended matter, CHN) and CTD profiles are carried out. At MOLA point (MOOSE program), measurements are taken on a monthly basis. This station will become an autonomous, long-term, high-frequency instrumented observatory transmitting data in real time.
