Marine Benthos in transitional waters and rocky shores in northern Spain, from 2000 to 2006 Citation Bustamante, M.; Plentzia Marine Station (UPV/EHU); (2018) Marine Benthos in transitional waters and rocky shores in northern Spain, from 2000 to 2006. https://marineinfo.org/id/dataset/6142 Contact: Bustamante, María Availability: The data can be made available upon request, please use contact information. Description In 2000, a total of 21 sampling stations in the Bilbao estuary were selected in order to: (1) study the intertidal fauna distribution on both hard and soft bottoms; (2) link this information with the prevalence of certain environmental variables at the sampling sites; and (3) define distinct biological zones with all the information gathered.A large (100 km) rocky coast intertidal was sampled several times (from 2004 to 2006) to assess the affection degree of invertebrate assemblages impacted by a continuous oil spill. Twelve locations and two intertidal heights ( 3- 4 m and 0,7-1,2 m ) were selected along the coast.
