Description Suspended sediment concentration (monthly average) in mg/l in surface water coming from four measuring stations in the 'Outer Ems' estuary. Data collected by Rijkswaterstaat within the MWTL monitoring program (Monitoring Waterstaatkundige Toestand des Lands) between 1990 and 2017. more Samples collected 1 m below the water surface with a pump system from a ship, then filtered in laboratory. The MWTL data start around low tide at station Huibertgat (station 1). During the summer months surveys are usually every two weeks; during the winter months once per month. Scope Themes: Coastal studies (e.g. shores, estuaries), Water composition > Suspended matter - turbidity Keywords: Marine/Coastal, Fresh water, Brackish water, Estuaries, Estuarine dynamics, Estuarine environments, Estuarine monitoring, Estuarine processes, estuarine systems, Estuary, Surface waters, Suspended particulate matter, Suspended sediments, Tidal estuary, ANE, Germany, Ems Estuary Geographical coverage ANE, Germany, Ems Estuary [Marine Regions] Temporal coverage January 1990 - December 2017 Monthly Parameters Suspended particulate matter (SPM): Filtration and weighing Suspended sediment concentration: Filtration and weighing Contributors Project INTERTIDE: INTERcomparison of TIDal Estuaries in NW Europe, more Publication Based on this dataset De Jonge, V.N. et al.
