Manual tagging of fish individuals of the image material of ACQUALTA platform from 2022-04-27 to 2022-05-25 with a camera at 10m depth Citable as data publication Francescangeli, M.; Bastianini, M.; Marini, S.; Aguzzi, J.; Technical University of Catalunya (UPC); Institute of Marine Sciences (CSIC-ICM): Spain; Institute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR); Stazione Zoologica 'Anton Dohrn' of Naples (SZN): Italy; (2022): Manual tagging of fish individuals of the image material of ACQUALTA platform from 2022-04-27 to 2022-05-25 with a camera at 10m depth. Notes: The images relative to the taggings has to be requested to the person in charge of the ACQUALTA platform (Mauro Bastianini, mauro.bastianini@ismar.cnr.it). Description Manual tags of different fish taxa detected from the image repository of the ACQUALTA platform with the camera at about 10 meter depth. We classified the fish taxa following FishBase (www.fishbase.org). Additionally to the unclassified species (reported as "Unknown species") we classified the following fish taxa: Boops boops, Chromis chromis, Diplodus annularis, Diplodus sargus, Diplodus vulgaris, Lithognathus mormyrus, Liza aurata, Liza saliens, Oblada melanura, Sarpa salpa, Sciaena umbra, Scorpaena sp., Sparus aurata, Spicara smaris, and Trachurus trachurus. more FishTagsACQUALTA-10 is a dataset created by the PhD student Marco Francescangeli thanks to an ASSEMBLE+ project with the acronym FARADAY (Fish Activity Rhythm in the Adriatic at Diel And Yearly time scale; PID9827). The tagging annotations were obtained using the image repository of ACQUALTA platform from the camera at 10 m depth. The annotations report the file name of the images in the ACQUALTA repository, the time stamp, the image coordinates of the vertices of the bounding boxes of the tags, and the fish taxa classification. The tagging covers the period between 2022-04-27 and 2022-05-25 with a frequency of one photo each 30 minutes. We created this dataset to compare the classification data from that visual census with a concomitant eDNA sampling data at the ACQUALTA platform. Furthermore, this dataset represents a valuable material for the development of an automated image analysis device. We tagged the fishes using a python code developed by the researcher Dr. Simone Marini uploaded in the Zenodo repository https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6566282.
