Novel PFAS exposure data for SOS-ZEROPOL2030 Task 4.2
Citable as data publication
Ruhl, R.; Vlachogianni, Th.; Wageningen Food & Biobased Research; Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development; (2024): Novel PFAS exposure data for SOS-ZEROPOL2030 Task 4.2. Marine Data Archive. https://doi.org/10.14284/704

Availability: Unrestricted after moratorium period
Data are initially restricted, but the access condition relaxes to academic or unrestricted once a specified period of time after an event (such as collection, publication, completion of QC procedures or project cessation) has elapsed

Description
This Excel file contains georeferenced data from monitoring campaigns and research expeditions, focusing on PFAS concentrations measured in marine and coastal environments (including seawater, brackish water, freshwater, and biota). This dataset was not intended to be exhaustive and include all available data within the covered temporal and spatial boundaries. PFAS monitoring campaigns and/or research expeditions are still ongoing, thus some data are not yet publicly available and some data points may have not been reported for other reasons. Yet, this is a useful resource for those seeking insight into PFAS concentrations in European marine and coastal environments. more

The dataset includes data points that meet the following criteria:

* Novel PFAS-related data are included (excluding non-novel compounds such as PFOS, PFOA, long-chain PFCAs/PFSAs, and PFHxA/PFHxS), and data are not duplicated in other entries within this file.

* Data are primarily obtained from within the EU, although large datasets from beyond the EU may be considered.

* Only georeferenced data are included (coordinates specified in the paper or supplementary information). Biota samples were often not georeferenced with exact coordinates, but only with approximate locations.

* Concentrations are reported in ng/L for water samples and ng/g dry weight for solid samples.
