LionFishMED: Acoustic telemetry receiver array data for Lionfish (Pterois miles) distribution in the Gökova Bay, southwestern Aegean Sea (Türkiye) Citation Olguner, M. T., Özgül, A.; (2025): LionFishMED: Acoustic telemetry receiver array data for Lionfish (Pterois miles) distribution in the Gökova Bay, southwestern Aegean Sea (Türkiye). https://marineinfo.org/doc/dataset/8765 Contact: Olguner, Tunca Description This study investigates the distribution and movement patterns of the invasive lionfish (Pterois miles) in Gökova Bay using acoustic telemetry. The research focuses on determining whether lionfish exhibit seasonal migration behavior in response to changes in water temperature. Tagged lionfish were monitored using acoustic receivers deployed at various depths in the Gökova Bay, southwestern Aegean Sea (Türkiye). The study underscores the importance of continuous monitoring and extending the observation period to fully understand the species' behavior in the Mediterranean ecosystem.
