Benthos data collected in the Black Sea during the IAEA Cruise in 1998 Citation Teaca, A.; Begun, T.; Muresan, M.; National Research and Development Institute for Marine Geology and Geoecology – GeoEcoMar, Romania (2016): Benthos data collected in the Black Sea during the IAEA Cruise in 1998. https://marineinfo.org/doc/dataset/5261 Contact: Teaca, Adrian Availability: ![]() Description The dataset comprises data on the substrate type and benthos from 14 samples colected in NW Black Sea in the August 1998. The quantitative (1/133 m2) undisturbed sediment samples were taken with a multicorer Mark II-400, the integral 0-15 cm layer of surface sediment were retained, preserved in 4% formaldehyde. The database comprises taxonomic and quantitative data (density and wet weight biomass per square meter) for 28 macrobenthic species and 2 supraspecific groups. Lineage Prior to publication data undergo quality control checked which are described in https://github.com/EMODnet/EMODnetBiocheck?tab=readme-ov-file#understanding-the-output Scope Themes: Biology > Benthos Keywords: Marine/Coastal, Bio-geographical regions, Biota, Environment, Geoscientific Information, Habitats and biotopes, Historical data, Metadata non conformant, Metadata not evaluated, No limitations to public access, Oceans, Sea regions, WGS84 (EPSG:4326), XYZ ASCII, EurOBIS calculated BBOX, MED, Romania Geographical coverage EurOBIS calculated BBOX Stations Bounding Box Coordinates: MinLong: 29,1667; MinLat: 43,7483 - MaxLong: 31,165; MaxLat: 46,4182 [WGS84] MED, Romania [Marine Regions] Temporal coverage 1998 - 1988 Parameters Contributors National Research and Development Institute for Marine Geology and Geoecology (GeoEcoMar), more, data creator Related datasets Published in: EurOBIS: European Ocean Biodiversity Information System, more Publication Based on this dataset Gomoiu, M.-T. et al.
