Description

Tidal sluices play a key role in water management. During discharge, strong flow conditions can occur that may affect fish movement and migration, especially at transition locations between freshwater and estuarine environments. Fish can either be transported downstream by discharge flows or actively avoid the area during sluice operation.
This study aims to investigate the response of both freshwater and diadromous species to tidal sluice discharge events. These results will contribute to the understanding of the ecological effects of sluice management.
