Abstract
    This is the final version of Lamprell's studies of this family. It is expanded and revised from his earlier book "Spondylus" which up to the present time has been the standard reference book for this beautiful family of shells. The author passed away in 2003 and this book is a privately printed numbered edition that is a tribute to the man and his work.
