| Abstract |
The temperature dependent nitrate consumption was determined in a suspension system from the sediment surface layers of an intertidal mud flat sediment in the Elbe Estuary. Sediment samples from depths of 0-2, 2-4, 6-8 and 10-12 cm were incubated under oxygen free conditions at various temperatures in 2.7° C intervals from 5 to 40° C, and the changes in the concentrations of nitrate were monitored for three hours. |
