| Abstract |
A description of the type specimen of Porcellana digitalis Heller, 1862, is provided, and its identity with Petrolisthes armatus (Gibbes, 1850) established. The type locality of Heller's species, "Gibraltar", like those of many other new species collected by the 1857-1859 "Novara" Expedition, is unreliable, and should be disregarded, unless supported by new material. |
